1. Do you talk to household appliances???
umm, not that i know of
2. Do you ever insult your household appliances?
Nah I do not like to say mean things about my dishwasher/mother
3. Today a fuse blew turning off half of the houses power, i tried to flip the breaker and it wont go back?
One breaker would not usually turn of HALF the house power but perhaps that is a "figure of speech" ? Be sure you have everything unplugged. Turn the breaker FIRMLY OFF. Then FIRMLY on. Power should be restored. Then, start plugging things back in one by one, pausing between each to see if it will blow the breaker (there is often a delay built in to the breaker so give it time). When item blows the breaker, you've found the culprit. Unplug it and either repair or discard it. If, when you are certain that every appliance, fixture, light, extension cord, power strip, etc. is unplugged and all light switches are off, the breaker will still not hold in the ON position, it would seem like you have a short in one of the electrical boxes or possibly that a rodent has eaten through insulation of a wire in the attic. If you must do this repair yourself, turn off the breaker and one by one remove each cover plate and outlet or switch examining each for any sign of burning or arcing. Look also for broken or detached wires or insulation. Replace each as you go so you do not end up with everything torn apart at the same time. If all boxes and appliances check out, the last task I think open to an untrained homeowner is to check wires in the attic. Making sure the power is off, wear thin vinyl gloves and carefully sort through the loose attic insulation to find wires laying underneath. Run your hand along the length of each wire feeling for any spot where the insulation has been compromised by a rodent. Whenever you find such a spot, examine it carefully to see if the black wire is exposed. If so, you've likely found the short, tho there may be more. Keep looking and repairing. Good luck.
4. Asking for Monetary Gifts for a "Honeymoon Shower"?
This Site Might Help You. RE: Asking for Monetary Gifts for a "Honeymoon Shower"? I am the maid of honor at my best friend's wedding. She and her fiance have been living together for six years, so they already have all the housewares, towels and appliances that they could possibly need. They also already have a full set of Noritake tableware/china as well as high quality...
5. Are you often intimidated by common household appliances?
yeah, and i know they are listeneing to me right now, I think the computer tells them everything-- the food processor scares me the most, anything that can mulch a carrot like that is unholy
6. I'm having a difficult time deciding on a kitchen color. The next adjoining room is a neutral brownish...?
Depending on your kitchen, age, flooring, appliances and cabinets of course but I would suggest a yellow, brickpath red, or sage. All my favorite itchen colors
7. Where can I buy 110V appliances, like washer/dryer and small kitchen appliances?
everywhere, panda , extra, tamimi, plenty of stores for homeware and electronics
8. Could you use lightning to power electric appliances?
Theoretically, you could do it by having the lightning charge a giant capacitor and then slowly bleeding of the energy in a controlled fashion. Howerer, there are a few problems with this. The capacitor would be bigger than you house. You have no guaranteed regular source of lightning. You would need a step-down transformer to reduce the capacitor voltage to 120 volts. Given the cost of the machinery, you will never even come close to breaking even on payments. It is far cheaper to buy you electricity from the utility
9. Looking for tips on being green prepared...avoiding wastes etc.?
For around your home you can think about the following ideas: Use cloth napkins rather than paper napkins Use a stainless steel water bottle rather than the plastic bottles. Not only better for the environment, but healthier for you too. Use cleaning products that are environmentally friendly such as 7th generation Use energy efficient light bulbs Turn off your computer at night---do not put in hibernate mode Run appliances such as dishwashers/washing machines after 7pm in the evening. Recycle your printer cartridges--get them refilled. Use recycled stationary--they have many wonderful types of recycled stationary. Some even have flower seeds embedded into the paper that you can plant in your garden when you are ready to dispose of that piece of paper. Food: Eat LOCAL organic food. Try to avoid meat. Cows give off methane gas When getting take-out food make sure the restaurant uses environmentally friendly packaging----or you can bring your own tupperware for them to fill as an alternative. Green Gifts: There is now recycled gift packaging and gift cards. Take a look at CarbonFund.org for more information. Good Luck with your Greening!
