Its the blogging time again - I am wearing PJ and sitting in front of my laptop on a Sunday night. Trying to record and reflect what is happening this week and these words are echoing in my head:Rejection is gods protection. They are from one of my close friends and sometimes life coach.
She was trying to comfort me with these words from some recent disappointment I experienced. However, when I start to reflect and think back all the Rejection I had experienced since I grow up, they all seems to lead me to a better outcome eventually. For example: During my school day, I was an extremely unpopular kid among both teachers and classmates.
I am not exactly sure whyI know part of the reason was because I was socially awkward and a bit overweight), but I am certain they dont like me because I have never been picked for any class activities, its a norm to find worms and bugs in my pencil case(someone else put it inand less than 5% people would say hi back when I greet them. I was really want to fit in during the time, so I tried to put myself out and actively volunteer for extra curriculum and hope to change others perspective. However, nothing seems worked out for me, I still didnt managed to got accepted by any school societies, extra duties or activities.
Therefore, I decided to spend more time outside the school. After school, when other classmates go to those school ran extra curriculum, I would ride my bike around and visited some free events in the city. Thats when I got a part-time job (completely out of blue) as a teaching assistant for a local language center.
I went to their several free English Corner event and the school staff mentioned to me about this opportunity and reference me. And thats where I met 2 Australian exchange students from the University of Sydney who eventually convinced and helped me move to Australia.I still remember how disappointed I felt before when I never been accepted in my own school community.
But without this rejection, I would never have come to Australia and become who I am today a person who feel conformable about myself The feeling that I have never experienced when I was in school) And there are tons of similar stories during my life and you may experience the same? The reason I want to share this story and this quote is because I do believeRejection is Gods ProtectionI really hope when you feel down or disappointed, please dont give up, because you are going to a much better direction from here RELATED QUESTION Most night lamps are blue. Why is your mobile filtering blue light while night mode is on?
I dont know where you read the fact about the blue night lamps, but thetruthis actuallyopposite, RED color is the best for you during the night time and here is why.Arecent study at harvardon hamsters, suggests that blue light had worst effects on mood, followed closely by white light. The hamsters exposed to red light at night had significantly less evidence of depressive-like symptoms and changes in the brain linked to depression, compared to those that experienced blue or white light.
However, total darkness at bedtime is still best for sleep. Specialized photosensitive cells called ipRGCs are located in the retina of our eyes. These cells are able to detect any light and send messages to a part of the brain that helps regulate the bodys circadian clock.
This is the bodys master clock that helps determine when people feel sleepy and awake. These ipRGC cells are most sensitive to blue wavelengths of light and least sensitive to red wavelengths. In nearly every measure of this study, the hamsters exposed to blue light were the worst off, followed by those exposed to white light.
While total darkness was best, red light was not nearly as bad as the other wavelengths studied. So if you need a night light in the bathroom or bedroom, it may be better to have one that gives off red light rather than white light! Why not give it a try at home and experiment on how the change in color makes you feel!
MOREOVER,While blue may be a calming pigment choice for paint, "blue wavelengthswhich are beneficial during daylight hours because they boost attention, reaction times, and moodseem to be the most disruptive at night."Light of any kind decreases the secretion of melatonin, a hormone that helps you sleep, and light at night particularly messes with your circadian rhythm (your daily biological schedule which is driven by exposure to light and dark). LED lights and those curlicue compact fluorescents emit more blue light waves than old style incandescent bulbs.
Fluorescent tubes are sold with coatings that can shift the color away from blue wavelengths.Hope it helps!
