Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Exposure Is Expected to Be Launched by the End of 2019
On April 11, Roland Quandt, a well-known informant, revealed that Qualcomm's next-generation flagship platform with an internal model of sm8250 supports lpddr5 memory (Qualcomm snapdragon 855 supports lpddr4x memory). Although Qualcomm has not announced the final naming of sm8250, according to previous naming rules, sm8250 should be named Qualcomm snapdragon 865 (Qualcomm snapdragon 855 has an internal model of sm8150).
Roland Quandt said that Qualcomm already has a prototype equipped with lpddr5 memory snapdragon 865 flagship platform, which is currently being tested. Unfortunately, the clock frequency and other details of Qualcomm snapdragon 865 flagship platform are not clear for the time being.
In addition, Roland Quandt revealed that Qualcomm also has an unpublished 5g modem sdm55, code named "Huracan". It may support 5g network through plug-in like X50. Another possibility is that Xiaolong 865 integrates sdm55 5g modem to support 5g network.
As usual, Qualcomm Xiaolong 865 flagship platform is expected to be launched at the end of 2019 and corresponding terminals will be listed at the beginning of 2020, which is worth looking forward to.
