I am guessing most of the flock is not so keen on his false causes masquerading as religion. He is having trouble separating his leftism from his Catholicism.. My brother in law was a Catholic priest and he earned a doctorate in the Vatican (he died early) and he met the great John Paul whom I greatly admire. What an embarrassment this Pope is by comparison and I am not even Catholic. Actually Georginia, you might be surprised. My brother in law, for example, had a biology degree from University of Irvine, and knew evolution quite thoroughly. There is a lot they agree on too.
