I'm leaving for boot camp in 7 days!!! anyone have any good advice?
just try not to cry on the first week of boot camp. The drill sgts. wil scare the pants off you when they get on the bus. I pratically jumped out the window. 2) On the first day be prepared to carry your duffle bag to your bed, try and get a bottom bunk. 3) Always lock your things, There are many theives in the military and brown hats will take your stuff too. 4) volunteer when ever they ask for someone, even if you do not know what it is( They like those guys) 5) Do not ever talk in the cafeteria 6) just mind your own business

What do I do at marine boot camp if my hair is too short for a bun?
Honestly, best thing to do is keep it short until after boot camp. As long as it does not fall past the bottom of your collar, you can leave it down. It's much easier to deal with, you get very little time in boot camp. Still pay attention to the drill instructors when they give a short instruction on how to make proper buns, though, in case you decide to grow it out after

Whatu2019s the worst thing you can say in boot camp?
"no sir" when they tell you to do something.Itu2019s just a REALLY bad idea.Do not do it.Or do it.I bet you will never do it again. If you really want to up the ante, say something like, "Sir, this recruit thinks the recruits do not PT enough"If you want to get REALLY messed up, just throw all of your customs and courtesies out the window.Try greeting your drill instructor with a simple "hey dude" instead of "good morning sir". Say please literally ALL THE TIME. For the littlest reasons. "Hey bro, can I please go in the sand pit again?"For bonus points, throw away any and ALL naval terminology."Thanks pal."Whatu2019s the worst thing you can say in boot camp?.

Scared about boot camp showers?
Sounds like you would be better off not joining the military. If you are that sensitive then you will not make it though the first week. And once they find out that you can not take it they will be all over you like white on rice. Seriously, stay home.

Leaving for boot camp, but I got a phobia?
I was in the army and went to fort sill, Oklahoma. Im scared of heights at points too. When im on a wooden bridge held up with rope and its 200' long and 200' in the air, drill sgt. standing in the middle swinging it yelling and screaming at you to hurry up. I totally understand the getting psych would out but once your in the moment, it is totally different. They make you a stronger person inside and out, as i said once u are standing their and have had the right training you wont even hesitate for a second. Good luck and thanks for joining i hope all goes well for you!.

Shipping out for boot camp questions...?
I will be checking back on this question to see what some of the recent boot-camp grads have to say. When I went to Navy boot camp in January 1970, we were not allowed to take anything. Even the clothes which we were wearing upon arrival were packed into a cardboard box and shipped home that very same evening.

Can a Recruit in boot camp...masturbate?
all other issues aside here.....I know of no "screening" that determines if you've recently had sex. Alone or otherwise. Certainly nothing performed on countless recruits during boot camp. No one really cares if you are giving it a tug or not.

On What day of Boot Camp do give a urine sample? specifically Coast Guard Boot Camp?
At ANY time your told to.....why? Are you doing drugs prior to going? You asked about the coast guard three months ago, so it is apparent that you knew you were going in....should have stayed clean! We do not need druggies in any branch of service! Hope your caught...then you will never get a good federal job anywhere in the world.
What happens if a military boot camp recruit is involuntarily separated by the drill instructors while in boot camp, but the recruit refuses to leave training?
Iu2019m not certain I understand your question. When you wrote "u2026involuntarily separatedu2026" that makes it sound as if you mean the trainee is discharged from the Army involuntarily. Uh, that canu2019t happen because a drill sergeant doesnu2019t have that authority. If you meant the drill sergeant wants a particular trainee to leave the training site and he refuses, the drill sergeant will "persuade" the trainee that itu2019s in his best interest to depart the training area. I was a basic training company commander for two years at Fort Knox, KY, and that never happened that Iu2019m aware of. Iu2019m confident that a drill sergeant can get a trainee to respond in an appropriate manner in every situation he will encounter during training.
