1. Which type of dog collar is safer for the dog?
Any collar will put pressure on the neck - period. The more the dog pulls, the harder you have to pull her back - so any collar can cause discomfort and may cause the dog to cough. That does not mean you should switch to a harness - harnesses are the WORST training tool ever invented in my opinion... unless you plan on teaching your dog to pull a sled. Harnesses increase the urge AND ability to pull - the dog can get more power behind it and large dogs are known to pull owners all over the road while in harness. It will NOT re-direct the dog's attention to you (why would it if it's very comfortable and easy to ignore?) But no, they will not "hurt the ribs." They are just not useful in training. If you do not want your dog to choke, train the dog to heel and to ignore other dogs on walks. Not too hard. Look up Koehler Method of Dog Training or use Google to find a method you like.
2. What kind of dog collar does my strong bulldog/pitbull/lab mix need for our walks?
We have two pitts and just use regular quick snap collars. When she is pulling hard stop completely and stay until she calms. It may take awhile but it works
3. dog collar advice? 10 points BA?
Try a gentle leader. You would still need a well fitted nylon collar for it to snap to, which should be easy, and the gentle leader works like a horse halter. It control their head so if he pulls it will turn his head towards you. They are great for training dogs to heel :0).
4. Help with a name for my dog collar business?

6. Is it alright to wash a dog collar in the washer?
You can wash it in the washer (we have), I
7. Is there a dog collar that shocks dog when it barks and also allows you to shock remotely for training?
Try a squirt bottle when you are at home, positive reinforcement is better than a quick fix. reward with treats when they do stop barking. When away and the dog is barking, you need to find out why the dog is barking, bored, separation anxiety, etc. please do not get your dog a shock collar they are painful, and if you do not believe try it
8. What's the best kind of dog collar?
The collar you are using either has sharp edges somewhere or is too narrow. A harness is a great idea, your dog will appreciate it too.
9. how do you teach your dog to come to you using a sport dog collar?
I would say after a few times of shocking the lil guy he would get use to it and you could just show him that your going to shock him and make him stop.. Most dogs do not like to be shocked, kinda painful... But partly he's still a young one ya know. .. Do not give up hope on this one, keep working with him.. And do not waste any more money on training him or having someone else train him... your chasing good money after bad in my opinion. . GOOD LUCK!!!.
10. Should I get a Electric dog collar?
this is a training issue. no , IMO. tell your mother the only way to have a "good dog" is to spend time w/ it. if you do not have or wo not make the time, then try a cat. dogs barking are telling YOU something. it's YOUR job to teach the dog why barking is good (that's WHY we have dogs) and since you have now been "informed" then it needs to quit. YOU are the ALPHA. edit: "playing" w/ the dog is not training the dog. the time you spend should always be spent reinforcing what you need the dog to do. the dog (and i believe this) needs a "job" if his job is "tell the boss....bark,,bark, bark, (until the boss comes...) then teach it...fetch is great. but your issue is territory...teach the dog WHO is in CHARGE of the teritory...YOU...thank/reward him for telling YOU...
