Basically, the only way to get into a computer is through open internet channels called "ports." Software can bind itself to a port so that internet servers can exchange info with that software. The firewall blocks all ports that do not have active software running on them, and no active software running should have any vulnerabilities that allow people to get in to your computer. Software is built and tested by hackers to make sure it's secure. Even if some software leaves a port open, there is no guarantee that information exchange with the software will get the hacker anything useful. So, basically, you are safe. As a further measure of safety, almost all router will block ALL incoming connections, regardless of where they are from, unless your computer started the connection. (They require some configuration to allow incoming connections, called "port forwarding") That way, hackers can not even see any open ports on your computer.

You are right that the GUIs of Hardware tools today are really bad compared to software tools. Why? Two reasons: first there are a lot more software engineers than hardware design engineers (say a hundred to one). If you are going to build a development tool and make money from it, your better guess is to aim for software tools. Second, if software people do not like the software they use, they just build new software to build better software. (are you still with me?) They have the means, motive and opportunity to build better software tools, and so they do.Now for a solution: having lived between the software and the hardware world, I have noticed the same thing you have. I founded a company, Sigasi, and usability is key to us. Established companies may or may not shift their attention to user-centric software, but some of the younger companies are.

Measure room acoustics audio software?

i don,t know of any software that would measure and actually help you correct your accoustic value,but what my amplifier does is measures the room and automatically adjusts the amps levels to pink noises ,thus giving the flat line we require.with the software you can measure the room but then what?how would you correct it.my amplifier measures all the parameters in the system as well as the speaker impedence values,then corrects the values from there.

did you just update adobe flash prior to that full page warning popping up/ it's a scam. called SCARE-WARE.cuz they scare the heck out of you. you can easily remove it, provided you have spybot or other software to remove it it should be easy.open up a few dox and adobe reader.a bunch of tabs on browsers open note pad type in gibberish and do not save it just leave it open or minimized then clik your power button it may start to shut down but all the programs will need to close first and it should give you an opportunity to stop the shutdown, so stop the process , or cxl whatever otion presents itself now after you stopped the shutdown process, close all the browsers, then open, rclik spybot if you have it or other crud remover or run microsoft eesentials.it should find the crud and then remove it it should take 30-60minutes to trun the software then remove the critter now reboot and it should be good to go
