My experience with rust proofing on modern cars (1990 and higher) is that is does nothing. Most panels are already coated at the factory, so coating them again is redundant (and just how are they going to do that effectively without dismantling the car?) . You have to remain calm, and you have to increase the punishment each time he disobeys. Get a hairbrush or small paddle, and spank his bare bottom, then put him in time-out immediately after the spanking. The next time he climbs give him a longer spanking and a longer time-out, and so on un til the behavior stops.

Old weather strips lose their texture, get ripped, destroyed and lose that luster. Replace them they are not expensive. All the lubrication ideas are good but just for bolts, and hinges. The weather strips are all you need :) Oh and clean the door frams with just a towel and water or whatever.
