The perfect choice of one-stop service for diversification of architecture.
This is consistent with the information shared by analyst Guo mingpeng earlier this week. He said that apple is developing six products with mini LED display, which will be released by the end of 2020, including the new 12.9-inch iPad pro, 10.2-inch iPad, 7.9-inch ipad Mini, 27 inch IMAC pro, 14 inch macbook pro and 16 inch MacBook Pro.
Guo Mingxuan also pointed out that the new IMAC Pro is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2020. Apple has not updated IMAC Pro since it was first released in December 2017, so users have been waiting for this update for a long time.
DIGITIMES claims that Apple will also use mini LED backlight for "some models of LCD displays", but it is unclear whether this refers to IMAC / IMAC pro or a separate display. Apple's high-end Pro display XDR uses 576 LEDs, but it is not a mini LED display. In contrast, the first iPad and MacBook equipped with mini LED backlight are expected to have more than 10000 LEDs.
Guo Mingyu previously said that the mini LED backlight display will allow thinner and lighter product design, and provide many of the same advantages as the OLED display used on the latest iPhone, including good color gamut performance, high contrast and dynamic range, and local dimming to obtain more pure black.
Guo Mingxuan also said that EPISTAR, Taiwan's largest LED manufacturer, will become one of the suppliers of Apple's iPad and MacBook.
