I was in your same situation! What I can tell you is to try and relax! :) remember that you can not always be the at everything ;) First of all, let your parents know how you feel! They might have gone through the same situation at your age too and could help you getting out of it ;) I also went talking with my form tutor and what she basically told me was not to worry if I got some lower marks because everyone has ups and downs and that if I needed any extra-tuition, the school would have helped me (did not need it though!) As you said, secondary school is not like primary school, and getting used to study harder and longer can be more difficult for some people than for others. I would advice you to study with friends because if you feel you are getting too stressed out, you can have a break and share a laugh with them ;) And do not stop going out cause being around people can really help to forget (school) problems -even only for a couple of hours- and when you came back you just feel more relaxed and ready to study! What can help you is to set a time for studying and a time to do what you want! For example if you study from 4 to 6, then you should have the evening free and watch tv, going on fb, talking on the phone with friends etc! :) In the end, I just understood that I was panicking for nothing and started to relax and guess what? I got higher marks! :p So just relax and remember that you still have plenty of time to work on your future :D xx

Should Hong Kong primary schools teach their students to swim?

My daughter went to a local primary school in Western District on Hong Kong island. The school arranged Saturday morning swimming classes for kids. We had to pay subsidised swimming fee (affordable). The swimming class was at public swimming pool (close to the school) conducted by outside swimming association company. After three years, my daughter learnt all the four strokes. It was great experience for my daughter and she was very happy to have learnt swimming by the time she graduated from primary school.

Stronger Bullying laws are needed, Yes or No?

Oh absolutely. Here are a few stories for you. A couple of year ago I knew of a girl who was a bit slow and had a speech impediment. She was so nice but got picked on non stop. Another girl threatened to slit her throat. I confronted the girl about it, but it only seemed to make things worse. Not knowing what to do I told someone at the school. If it had happened to me (and it had in different situations) I would of just laughed and told her to stick it. The other girl though was scared and stopped coming to school, so I informed one of the teachers there about it. The teacher asked the girl who was being bullied about it and she told her what happen. So the teacher went and asked 'the bully' if it was true. Of course she said no. So the teacher told the other girl there was nothing she could do about it. So what does a pissed off bogan do when she thinks someone has been talking about her? She gave my friend a black eye. And then what did they do about it? Nothing. No one saw it happen and that was the end of that. At that same school in about year 10 there was this ditz who ran the school council. In PE some class were playing spoon races. Some person that did not like her threw an egg at her back. She broke into tears. Later in class some people came around and started talking about it. "We can not just let people get away with this!" they said. "We need to stand up against them!" everyone nodded their head in agreement, how could such an awful thing happen? Later I saw the girl leaving the school sobbing in her mothers arms. The girl that threw the egg got suspended. At another school in a different state I had gotten into an argument with this guy. He was an idiot and I had no intentions of fighting him. If it had come to that though, I am sure it would not have been that bad. I can throw a punch and he looked a bit like a broom stick. Well I did not think it was that bad of course until 5 or so of his friends come to beat the living bejesus out of me. This happened on school ground mind you. What happen? Nothing! So i've been to some pretty horrible schools, but seriously, most Australian public schools are the same, and i've moved a lot so I've had the full experience. We get told of a zero tolerance policy, which is so untrue. The problem is that we get told since primary school that if you want people to leave you alone, you have to ignore them. That's not true at all. You have to stand up for yourself or you will be a victim your whole life. Well, I went a bit off track there but my point is that does it damage someone less to get a black eye while under age? Does it not effect someone as much?
